With a professional background spanning the British Army, HGV training, powerboat instruction, and even scuba diving at a professional level, I’ve spent many years in the education sector focused on coaching people through complex, safety-critical skills. Across each of these disciplines, one thing has remained constant: the importance of building not just skills but understanding and confidence through true coaching.
I bring this same philosophy into driver education. We don’t just teach people to pass a test, we guide them to become capable, independent, and responsible drivers. This is why I believe industry must evolve. We are not simply instructors. We are Teachers and coaches. It’s time our language and our training models reflect that shift, this is why I’m invested in this course, it’s time to increase the standards and this starts with us.
As a trainer and instructor with years of experience, I’m passionate about reshaping how we approach driver education. In today’s world, we shouldn’t just instruct people to drive, we should coach and teach them to become confident, thoughtful, and responsible road users. That shift in mindset is vital. We are not merely instructors; we are educators.
