In unit three, participants will be introduced to the benefits of setting goals, including SMART goals to their potential driving instructors. Participants will learn how to teach a reflective process for their students' progress and make judgments to create better outcomes supporting more effective lesson planning.  

Participants will also develop skills to enhance their lesson-planning abilities and those of their potential driving instructors.

Who is it for?

  • For ADIs who are thinking about delivering Potential Driving Instructor training and are exploring Train the Trainer options.

Learning Outcomes

  • You will be able to describe the importance of goal setting in driver training.
  • You will be able to explain and demonstrate how to reach individual goals through adapting a driver training session.
  • You will be able to explain the process of reflection feedback and understand the connection between reflection, feedback, and goal setting.
  • You will be able to demonstrate your ability to facilitate a small group of students on creating a driving syllabus.

What do you get?

  • One year subscription to The Honest Truth (for delivering lessons to learner drivers and during PDI training).
  • On completion of your in-car and online assignments you will be sent a completion certificate for Unit Three. (You have six months to complete)
  • On completion of all thirteen units of the Diploma for Teaching the Introduction to Driving Education Award you will receive your full qualification certificate which is SCQF Level 8 | 17 credit points. (You have two years to complete all thirteen units)
