In unit thirteen, participants will learn and explore other crucial considerations for operating a successful driver training business as self-employed individuals.  This will enable them to better support the PDIs training with them.

This includes advertising and marketing, industry associations and support, professional indemnity insurance, public liability insurance, vehicle insurance and tax and accounting.

Candidates will be well-equipped to navigate the legal and financial landscape of being self-employed.

Who is it for?

  • For ADIs who are thinking about delivering Potential Driving Instructor training and are exploring Train the Trainer options.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand different methods and the benefits of advertising and marketing a driver training business.
  • Understand the differences between normal car insurance and driving instructors’ insurance.
  • Understand the legal obligations of being self-employed and those specific to driver training.
  • Understand how and where to find information and support regarding running your driver training business.

  • On completion of your online assignments you will be sent a completion certificate for Unit Thirteen. (You have six months to complete)
  • On completion of all thirteen units of the Introduction to Driving Education Award you will receive your full qualification certificate which is SCQF Level 5 | 25 credit points. (You have two years to complete all thirteen units)
