Introduction to Driving Education Award

Online Training

In unit six, participants will be introduced to the benefits of client-centred learning, the impact of neurodiversity, causes of stress and anxiety, and how personality types impact learning.

 Participants will also examine how independent driving decisions can promote a growth mindset.  Developing a greater knowledge and understanding of these topics supports driver trainers and their student drivers at all levels.

Who is it for?

For Potential Driving Instructors undertaking training or ADIs wishing to update their training

Learning Outcomes

You will be able to explain what client-centred learning is and how it is applied in driver training.
You will gain a basic understanding of neurodiversity and suitable adaptations for the training environment.  
You will understand common causes of nerves and anxiety and the use of stress management solutions.
You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of effective learning and the benefits of creating a growth mindset for the learner driver.

What do you get?

Following the training day you can request an attendance certificate (this will count towards your 40 hours or 20 hours).
  • One year subscription to The Honest Truth (once you are delivering lessons to learner drivers)
  • On completion of your in-car and online assignments you will be sent a completion certificate for Unit One. (You have six months to complete)
  • On completion of all thirteen units of the Introduction to Driving Education Award you will receive your full qualification certificate which is SCQF Level 5 | 25 credit points. (You have two years to complete all thirteen units)
