In-Car Training

In unit one, participants will evaluate their driving strengths and proficiency, focusing on hazard prediction and essential driving skills. Participants will be introduced to the practice of commentary driving, and will master driving routines that are crucial for safe driving practices.

Understanding and applying these techniques will not only improve participants own driving but in turn equip participants with the skills to start effectively teach learner drivers.

For Potential Driving Instructors undertaking training or ADIs wishing to update their training

Learning Outcomes

1. You will evaluate your own driving strengths, knowledge and abilities.
2. You will learn how you would use this when teaching learner drivers.
3. You will be introduced to commentary driving skills in various situations and understand how this is used in teaching driving skills.
4.You will learn different types of systematical driving routines.
5. You will learn how independent driving is used in driver training.

What do you get?

Following the training day you can request an attendance certificate (this will count towards your 40 hours or 20 hours).

One year subscription to The Honest Truth (once you are delivering lessons to learner drivers)
On completion of your in-car and online assignments you will be sent a completion certificate for Unit One. (You have six months to complete)
On completion of all thirteen units of the Introduction to Driving Education Award you will receive your full qualification certificate which is SCQF Level 5 | 25 credit points. (You have two years to complete all thirteen units)
